Actually yesterday’s, but I was too groggy to post. Working on other drawings today. This Patroclus is just a result of my continuing fascination with the heroic (and doomed ) archetype.
Once again my handy-dandy maquette came in handy-thank you Clive!

Wow! Love the grisaille! I like the way this is becoming almost abstract shape.
The maquette seems to lend towards abstraction, all those flying limbs in unnatural poses. I thank you for that. I confess I feel it is an archaic direction rather than abstraction that I am searching for; but in the end it comes up the same .
Well, abstraction existed long before we came up with the word for it! (-;
This is wonderful! My, what a sketchbook you must have… I would say that is a finished piece!
I think it is finished…for now. I’m playing with the figure, not sure where I am going with it. I suppose that is a good thing.
